How do I fix my Nerf Vulcan? See Comments for Answers

Question Details: I have a problem. My friend and I went half in on a Nerf Vulcan to ambush my other friend outside of school and for various other shenanigans. After firing two shots the white, piston-type thing that normally is in the gun stuck out and will not go back in the gun. The manual says something but it does nothing. Should I return the Vulcan? or is there a way to fix this?
